The Christensen Agency is a disability insurance brokerage office for the Union Central Life Insurance Company. We are located in Charlotte, North Carolina and with the use of technology we work with brokers all across the United States.
Union Central is our main carrier and has one of the insurance industry's best products in the disability marketplace, but we realized they can't serve all the disability needs your clients may need to protect. Hence we have brought in numerous carriers to fill the gaps that Union Central can't fill.
Our team is designed around providing you DI industry expertise and the excellent customer service. We are successful because you are successful. It's truly a team effort and we appreciate you allowing us to be an important part of your team.
Dale started in the insurance business in 1978. He was a career agent with Union Mutual in Madison, Wisconsin. After selling for over four years he decided to concentrate on disability insurance brokerage and has stayed with disability insurance ever since. He remembers the selling end of insurance, so he has a unique empathy for you, the producer. You do not get paid a commission unless you can place the policy, and since we too, are paid only on business placed, we have a vested interest in your business. He received his CLU in 1983 and ChFC in 1999. His role is to support you in meeting your clients' needs for financial security.
Mark joined our office in August, 2003. He accepted Dale's invitation to join him in this business. He earned his BS degree in Education in 1998, after spending a number of years in the work force. He was a sixth grade teacher in Wisconsin from 1998-2003. Many of the teaching skills have transferred directly into training new and veteran brokers about selling disability insurance. His role is to promote business in the field, provide brokers with sales support and training, and make the web site a useful tool for our brokers.
Pam joined the Christensen Agency in 1999. She uses her expertise for inside sales support to the brokers, from plan design, product education, and competitive analysis, to negotiating with the home office on policy issues. She knows where to go to get "it" fixed. Another part of her job is to run the flow of business in the agency, while keeping a handle on the day to day operations. Pam is a Boston College graduate with a BA degree in Economics, and a minor in business.
Joan joined us in April of 2004 and brings 20 years of business experience. Joan has quickly learned our products and is a valuable asset to our team. She has taken over some of Pam's duties, allowing Pam to spend more time on the phone with the brokers and the home office team. Joan's duties include updating and emailing the weekly status reports, GPIR options, as well as other office duties.
LaShon joined us as a part time assistant in 2003 and has proven to be a great addition to The Christensen Agency. Her duties include ordering medical requirements and records, sending out lapse notices, as well as providing general office support.
